At House of Timber, we offer several premium furniture finishes—each designed for beauty, durability, and everyday living. Below, you’ll find our recommended care and cleaning methods for each finish type. If your finish isn’t listed or you have any questions, we’re always here to help.

Lacquer & Conversion Varnish Finishes
For routine cleaning, simply use a soft cloth with water to gently wipe the surface. As with all of our finishes, avoid harsh chemicals such as bleach, ammonia, or commercial-grade cleaners whenever possible. If a deeper clean is needed, opt for a mild, natural cleaner—we recommend Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day Cleaner for a safe and effective option.

Monocoat Finishes (Indoor & Outdoor)
For everyday care, use a mixture of mild dish soap and water. For a deeper clean or to refresh the finish, we recommend using the cleaner specified by Monocoat. This finish can also be reactivated to restore its richness and protection—whether once a year or more frequently depending on use. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions for best results.

Handling Heat & Moisture

To preserve the integrity of your finish, avoid placing hot items or sharp objects directly on the surface. Indoor tables are meant for indoor spaces with controlled temperatures.
